Dr. Darling attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center. She graduated at the top of her class and was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After completing a transitional year at University of Texas Southwestern in Austin, she completed her dermatology residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock and served as chief resident during her final year. Dr. Darling subsequently completely her dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Virginia. Working alongside two recognized experts in the field, Dr. Darling credits this subspecialty training for honing her diagnostic skills and ability to diagnose skin cancers, tumors, rashes and other skin conditions. In 2021, she became one of the first dermatologists in the country to become board-certified in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Darling was born and raised in Omaha. She came into medicine at an early age, thanks to having a father who has practiced cardiology in Omaha for the last several decades. She graduated as Valedictorian from Burke High School. She went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated summa cum laude, the highest distinction, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Darling is married and has four children (two girls and two boys). She enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, and traveling. Interestingly, her sister is also a dermatologist who practices in North Carolina. They do enjoy attending meetings together, and dermatology is discussed often.
Dr. Darling is currently welcoming new patients, both adults and children, at the Dodge, Lakeside, and Oakview locations in Omaha and in Norfolk.
She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), the American Society for Mohs Surgery (ASMS), and the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP).
