TELEMEDICINE IS NOW AVAILABLE

Several Midwest Dermatology providers are now seeing patients with  telemedicine applications.  Telemedicine allows our doctors to use photo and video technology to provide care to patients virtually over a HIPAA compliant platform. You stay safe in your own home and we will do the work from our Midwest Dermatology home base! Scroll down to learn more about E-Visits with Jason Papenfuss, M.D. and Zoom Video Telemedicine with Justin Madson, M.D.

Schedule an e-visit with Dr. Jason Papenfuss

  • Are you an established patient of Dr. Papenfuss?
  • Are you a resident of the State of Nebraska and currently residing in-state?

If the answer to both of these questions is yes, you can initiate an appointment to see Dr. Papenfuss in a virtual patient visit known as an E-VISIT.  You initiate the visit from your phone or tablet on your own time – whenever it’s convenient.  There will be a few steps to sign on and a few prompts to enter information about your condition and provide clear, well lit photos for Dr. Papenfuss.

Once you have completed this step, simply keep your phone handy and watch for him to respond BY ALLOWING NOTIFICATIONS IN THE APP.  You will receive a notification from him with questions about your condition and a recommendation for treatment.  We will send needed prescriptions to your pharmacy and order labs if necessary.

To get started:

STEP 1: Download the Pocket Patient App on your cell phone or tablet by tapping on this link:

For iPhones or iPads: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pocketpatient/id1036175909
For Androids or tablets: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modernizingmedicine.patientportal

MAKE SURE PUSH NOTIFICATIONS ARE TURNED ON. THIS IS HOW YOU WILL COMMUNICATE WITH DR. PAPENFUSS. TO ENABLE, TAP “ALLOW PUSH NOTIFICATIONS” WHEN INSTALLING THE APP, OR SET UP ON YOUR DEVICE BY FOLLOWING THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
• GO TO THE SETTINGS
• TAP ON NOTIFICATIONS
• TAP ON POCKET PATIENT ICON
• TOGGLE TO ALLOW NOTIFICATIONS

STEP 2: Enter the Midwest Dermatology url:
midwestdermatology.ema.md

STEP 3: Enter your user name. This is your account number as shown on your statement. If you do not have your account number / user name, call (402) 552-2555. Use your own portal access – NEVER use a family member’s patient portal to access your visit.

STEP 4: Enter your password. If you have not previously changed your password it will be:

Your first name first initial UPPER CASE

Your last name first initial lower case

Your eight character date of birth. Example : John Smith date of birth February 7, 1954 = Js02071954

You have now created your e-visit with Dr. Papenfuss. Choose the VIRTUAL patient visit and follow the prompts to update your patient information, take photos and describe your condition for Dr. Papenfuss and then wait for a notification that he has responded. MAKE SURE NOTIFICATIONS ARE ENABLED. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A PUSH NOTIFICATION, KEEP CHECKING BACK ON THE APP.

Schedule a ZOOM video appointment with Dr. Justin Madson

If you have a big family, chances are you are already familiar with Zoom, the latest technology for video face to face conferencing.  If not, don’t worry – it’s easy!  We will schedule you for a specific time and it will be a lot like visiting us in the office.  Here are the simple instructions for booking and getting started on your Zoom visit:

  • Call (402) 552-2555 and request a Zoom appointment time.
  • Download the Zoom app on the device you prefer to use for your appointment. Zoom is easily accessed from phones and iPads or tablets. You can also download and use Zoom from your laptop or PC, but you must have a camera and video/audio capabilities.
  • Midwest Dermatology will email you an appointment confirmation with your unique Zoom meeting number and password.
  • At the time of your appointment, open Zoom and join a meeting.
  • Enter the Meeting # and Password.
  • At your scheduled time, a nurse will greet you online briefly and then your physician will join the appointment. We will be in our clinic seeing patients, so it is possible that there will be a wait time before your nurse is able to greet you.
  • Make sure you that you are in a well-lit location. This will ensure that the physician will be able to see your skin condition clearly and see the scope and the size of the issue.

If you experience any difficulty getting your Zoom appointment started, call (402) 552-2555 for assistance.

PATIENTS SEEN ON ZOOM MUST BE ESTABLISHED PATIENTS WITH DR. JUSTIN MADSON AND RESIDENTS OF THE STATE OF NEBRASKA AND MUST BE PRESENT IN THE STATE AT THE TIME OF THE VISIT.
