Melissa Diamantis Darling, MD
Melissa Diamantis Darling is a triple board-certified dermatologist at Midwest Dermatology who sees patients at the Dodge Street, Lakeside, Oakview, and Norfolk locations.
Dr. Darling is board certified in Dermatology, Dermatopathology, and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery — a rare combination that allows her to move seamlessly from diagnosis to treatment. She is known for her ability to quickly recognize concerning findings, make accurate diagnoses, and recommend effective treatment plans with confidence and clarity. For patients, this often means fewer unanswered questions and a clear sense of direction during the visit.
Dr. Darling earned her medical degree through the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in collaboration with MD Anderson Cancer Center, graduating at the top of her class and earning membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her dermatology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she served as chief resident, and later achieved board certification in Dermatopathology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. In 2021, she became one of the first dermatologists in the country to be board certified in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery.
At Midwest Dermatology, Dr. Darling performs Mohs surgery at the Dodge Street and Norfolk locations, where on-site pathology allows tissue to be processed and evaluated during treatment. This integrated approach supports efficient, same-day care and a high level of precision in skin cancer treatment.
In the clinic, Dr. Darling is known for her confident, focused approach and her ability to get to the heart of a problem quickly. She communicates directly, makes clear recommendations, and is decisive when outlining next steps. Many patients appreciate that visits feel efficient and purposeful, with a treatment plan that is well thought out and clearly explained. Her style reflects deep experience and strong clinical judgment, particularly in situations where accuracy and timing matter.
Dr. Darling sees a broad range of general dermatology conditions, including acne and other chronic skin concerns. She is also highly involved in cosmetic dermatology and offers a wide range of injectable treatments, including Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, RHA fillers, and Sculptra, as well as advanced laser procedures such as FX Laser and Ellacor micro-coring. Her cosmetic care reflects the same diagnostic precision and clinical judgment that define her medical practice, along with thoughtful guidance on at-home skin care and product selection.
Patients frequently describe Dr. Darling as knowledgeable and confident, and many note that her clear direction and decisiveness are especially reassuring during visits that involve complex decisions or surgical care.
