SkinMedica Peels
SkinMedica offers three levels of professional chemical peels, giving us options ranging from very light exfoliation to more noticeable correction.
Illuminize Peel® is our lightest SkinMedica peel. It’s a good choice when you want gentle exfoliation and brighter, smoother looking skin with little to no visible peeling.
Vitalize Peel® takes treatment a step further and can help improve mild to moderate skin imperfections, including uneven tone and texture, fine lines and signs of sun damage. Some visible peeling can be expected.
Rejuvenize Peel™ is the strongest of our SkinMedica peel options and may be recommended when more significant improvement in texture, pigmentation and signs of aging is the goal. It generally involves more visible peeling and recovery than the lighter SkinMedica options.
SkinCeuticals Peels
Our SkinCeuticals professional peels give us additional options when we’re targeting specific skin concerns.
Pigment Balancing Peel focuses on uneven pigmentation and discoloration while also exfoliating the skin to improve overall tone and brightness.
Advanced Corrective Peel is designed for more comprehensive improvement in discoloration and skin texture. It can be a good option when uneven pigmentation, sun damage and visible signs of aging are concerns.
TCA Peel provides a stronger level of resurfacing for patients who need more significant correction of damaged or uneven skin. Because the treatment is more intensive, recovery and visible peeling are an important part of deciding whether it’s the right choice for you.
Our New Favorite: The VI Peel
The VI Peel® series has quickly become one of our favorite options because it gives us several formulations designed for different skin concerns.
Depending on the formula selected, a VI Peel may be used to improve:
- Sun damage and uneven pigmentation
- Melasma and stubborn discoloration
- Acne and acne related discoloration
- Fine lines and signs of aging
- Uneven tone and texture
Rather than offering one peel for everyone, the VI Peel series allows us to select a formula based on what your skin needs and what you hope to accomplish.
VI Peels involve visible peeling over several days, so we’ll explain what to expect and provide instructions for caring for your skin at home while the peeling process takes place.

What Is a Chemical Peel Like?
Treatment begins with cleansing and preparing the skin. The selected peel solution is then carefully applied to your skin.
You may notice warmth, tingling or mild stinging during treatment. What happens afterward depends on the peel. Some lighter peels may cause little more than mild redness or flaking, while stronger peels can result in several days of visible peeling.
We’ll let you know what to expect before your treatment so you can choose a peel that fits both your skin goals and your schedule.
How Often Should I Have a Peel?
That depends on the type of peel and what you’re trying to improve. Some patients enjoy lighter peels periodically as part of their regular skin care routine, while others choose a series of treatments to address a particular concern.
We’ll recommend a treatment schedule based on your skin, the peel being used and the results you’d like to achieve.
