How Is Vivace Different From Traditional Microneedling?

Both traditional microneedling and Vivace stimulate the skin’s natural healing response by creating controlled microchannels in the skin.

Vivace adds radiofrequency energy. As the microneedles enter the skin, RF energy is delivered at controlled depths beneath the surface. This provides an additional source of heat within the skin to stimulate collagen and address skin laxity along with tone and texture.

Which type of microneedling makes the most sense for you depends on your skin and what you want to improve.

What Is Treatment Like?

A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to make the procedure more comfortable.

During treatment, very fine microneedles create controlled channels in the skin while radiofrequency energy is delivered beneath the surface. Most patients feel pressure, warmth or mild discomfort during the procedure.

Treatment generally takes about 45 minutes, although appointment time varies depending on the area being treated.

What Is Recovery Like?

One of the advantages of Vivace is relatively little downtime compared with more intensive skin resurfacing procedures.

Redness, sensitivity or mild swelling can occur following treatment, but most patients can return to their usual activities fairly quickly. You’ll receive instructions for caring for your skin after treatment and protecting it while it heals.

When Will I See Results?

You may notice some early improvement after treatment, but the more meaningful changes develop gradually as your skin produces new collagen.

A series of treatments is often recommended. Your treatment plan will depend on your skin, the concerns being addressed and the results you’d like to achieve.

Vivace With PRP

Vivace can also be combined with platelet rich plasma, or PRP, prepared from a small sample of your own blood.

PRP contains platelets and growth factors that support the body’s natural healing process and can be used as an enhancement to microneedling treatment.
