Still Working To Care For You
The dermatology care you trust is still available at Midwest Dermatology. You can make an appointment to see a board-certified dermatologist at any of our SIX OFFICE LOCATIONS. Rest assured that we are taking special precautions in light of COVID-19. Your safety and well-being are always our greatest concern.
Appointments
At this time, there is no disruption to our schedule. We look forward to seeing our patients in the office. Call or go to the “Book an Appointment” page on our website.
Cleaning
Know that we are following the highest standards in cleaning our office and patient waiting areas. We use only EPA-approved cleaning products to assure your best safety. In this heightened climate, we have increased our cleaning frequency. Every exam room, every iPad, and ALL equipment used in patient exam rooms are cleaned between each appointment and use. We wipe down all common surfaces frequently and practice CDC recommendations for washing hands, disinfecting, and wearing gowns, gloves and masks as needed.
Rigorous Screening
For your safety, we ask that all patients answer the following screening questions before they are allowed in the office for an appointment:
- Do you have a fever?
- Do you have a cough?
- Do you have a sore throat?
- Do you have any other flu-like symptoms?
- Have you traveled (domestically or internationally) in the past 14 days?
- Have you been in close contact with anyone who has traveled in the past 14 days?
IF THE ANSWER TO ANY OF THE ABOVE QUESTIONS IS YES, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO KEEP YOUR APPOINTMENT. YOU MUST RESCHEDULE AND THAT APPOINTMENT CAN BE NO SOONER THAN 14 DAYS, AT WHICH TIME YOU WILL NEED TO RE-ANSWER THE SCREENING QUESTIONS.
High-Risk Patients
If you are part of the group of high-risk patients, consider re-scheduling your appointment to a later date. WE WILL NOT SEE PATIENTS WHO ARE IN POOR HEALTH, REQUIRE SPECIAL PPE, OR IN ANY WAY INCREASE THE RISK OF EXPOSURE TO OTHER PATIENTS.
Temperature Screening
In certain situations, we may take your temperature before you are seen. We are evaluating this on a day-to-day basis and it will depend on any potential high-risk staff who may be present. Temperatures are taken by temporal scanners and are sanitized between each use.
Vehicle Screenings
Some of our buildings where our offices are located are providing their own screenings prior to allowing Midwest Dermatology patients to enter. The screenings are done while you are in your vehicle. Instructions will be provided when you arrive for your appointment. To date, these screenings have gone very smoothly and have not added significant waiting time to appointments.
Social Distancing
Of particular emphasis in preventing the spread of this pandemic virus is the call for social distancing. As a society, we have been asked to gather in groups of less than 10. While our waiting areas accommodate a larger number of guests, we are doing our best to keep our patients spread out. We have removed chairs and adopted spacing policies for check-in. Staff will work as quickly as possible to take you to your individual exam room.
Patient Guests
Because of the need for spacing and social distancing, we are strictly prohibiting non-patient visitors. Patients must come by themselves to their appointment unless they are minors or under the care of a guardian. If you have other guests, such as a driver, they must wait outside. This rule applies to spouses and other family members. Please do not bring children to the office unless they have an appointment.
Technology Available to Get You The Care You Need
We are working on getting you in touch with our physicians through our patient portal. This will be helpful in refilling medications and other routine dermatology needs. Please keep watching for more information in the very near future.
We thank you for your continued trust. Please contact our offices if you have any questions. We are here for you and will continue to provide the medically sound dermatology care you need.
