DIAL BACK THE CLOCK ON SAGGING JOWLS AND LOWER FACE WRINKLES WITH MICROCORING BY ELLACOR

Many of us have been there.  A glance in the mirror shows jowls getting started. And the skin around the mouth has a bad case of the droopies.  If you have ever taken a moment to pull back the skin around your lower face and chin, you can see the possibilities.

With Ellacor Micro-coring – now available in Nebraska at Midwest Dermatology – the possibilities become realities.  Not to be mistaken for microneedling, micro-coring uses the Ellacor medical device to gently extract micro-sized tissue cores in areas of wrinkles and sagging on the lower face.  Let’s break it all down for a better understanding.

The Rejuvenation Journey

As your skin ages, it loses laxity, or tightness, leading to sagging and the appearance of wrinkles.  Facial rejuvenation procedures abound to help us prevent wrinkles and reverse the signs of aging.  Neuromodulators like Daxxify, Botox and Dysport are injected to relax wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes, and for frown lines between the eyes.  Microneedling and radiofrequency treatments provide tightening for mild wrinkles and sagging.  And fillers target specific wrinkles such as marionette lines and lip lines to add volume to the skin and create fullness.

Ellacor is a next-generation treatment that is used for patients with moderate to severe skin redundancy, which is a medical word for sagging.  It’s something to consider if you thought your only option was a facelift, the well-known treatment on the other end of the spectrum.  Each Ellacor procedure gently removes up to 8% of your skin in the treated areas.  Micro-coring technology is an innovative technology that combines the benefits of minimally invasion treatment, fast recovery, and the advantage of scarless skin removal.  It’s the next frontier of aging skin treatment.

What To Expect – Great Results Are At The Top Of The List

Precision Skin Rejuvenation: Precisely what it sounds like, micro-coring uses hollow needles to safely remove microscopic plugs of skin from the treatment area. The device has hollow core needles inserted in a grid like pattern along the treatment area, removing up to 12,000 microcores in a single treatment.  The cores of skin removed during treatment are the size of the needle’s inner diameter.  Think of it as little tiny punches of skin all removed at once without the concern of scarring.  Once these micro-cores are removed, the body’s natural healing response kicks in, causing the skin to realign while reducing the appearance of sagging and deep wrinkles.

Comfort Is Key:  We will numb you – and then numb you again – to keep you comfortable throughout the process.  Your nurse will paint a topical numbing cream over the treated area prior to Ellacor. After surface numbness is achieved, your physician will numb your skin throughout.  Yes, this can be uncomfortable.  But if you would like, we can provide pretreatment medication for relaxation through the process.  Once you are completely numb in the treatment site, you won’t feel a thing.

Clinically tested for safety: At Midwest Dermatology, our emphasis is on medically sound skin care.  Proven safety and efficacy are non-negotiable and Ellacor comes with science backed clinical studies.  Micro-coring is minimally invasive and fast healing, with no notable scarring.  Ellacor treatment is provided by Melissa Darling, M.D., triple board-certified physician who specializes in general dermatology, skin cancer treatment and aesthetic dermatology.  All Ellacor treatments are provided in the comfortable surgery suites located in our brand-new office space at 8601 West Dodge Road.  Ellacor treatment is safe year-round.  As always, a high SPF sunscreen is advised when out in the sun.

One and done?  The true answer is sometimes, but not always.  It may take two to three Ellacor treatments before optimal results are achieved. These typically take around 30 minutes and can be performed within one month of each other. Because Ellacor is non-surgical, results from each treatment will take time to materialize. In some cases, it may take up to six months for maximum improvement to be reached, as the skin’s healing process continues to tighten and reduce sagging.

Down time for rest and recovery – it’s minimal.  Yes, it is definitely needed.  But no, it will not take as long as  the recovery from invasive procedures.  Patients can plan on three days (more for some) before going to work, or out in public.  If you consider redness part of your downtime, count on 7-10 days.  At some point during this recovery time, your physician will okay makeup and sunscreen, which makes it much easier to feel comfortable in the outside world.

The skin’s improvement is noticeable in 6 weeks after the first treatment. You’ll see the maximum final results 3-6 months following your final treatment session.
