During  uncertain times surrounding COVID-19, the board certified dermatologists and staff of Midwest Dermatology are committed to meeting the needs of our patients.  Our offices remain open for your essential care and our staff is hard at work taking extra precautions inside all offices to keep them safe and disinfected for our patients, staff and physicians.

Patient Screening

Prior to your appointment, you will receive both text and voice messages reminding you to stay home if you are sick.  We cannot see you in the office if you have a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, or any other symptoms associated with COVID 19.

On the day of your appointment, you will again be screened in the office, outside the office, or both.  You may have your temperature taken either outside the office or at the check in desk.  If you are sick,  YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO KEEP YOUR APPOINTMENT. You will be instructed to go home and reschedule at a date no sooner than 14 days, at which time you will need to re-answer the screening questions.

Guests are not allowed to accompany the patient unless there is a medical need or the patient is a minor. For the safety of all of our patients, staff and physicians, we must limit the number of people in our office space.   Only one parent will be permitted to accompany a minor child.

Masks and Face Coverings

We ask that all patients wear a cloth mask or other facial covering such as a scarf or bandana when in the office.
We will be wearing ours to protect you!  If you do not have a mask, you may be asked to wait in your vehicle.

For more about face masks, read this important letter from Dr. Jason Papenfuss.

Social Distancing

We have removed chairs from the waiting rooms to allow you to remain six feet from others.  Please do not move these chairs.  In addition, we are marking the floor to help you at the check in and check out desks.  Please stand at the tape X’s.  These have been measured and marked for your safety.

If the front desk or waiting room becomes too crowded, you may be asked to wait in the building lobby or your car.

Several Midwest Dermatology providers are now seeing patients with  telemedicine applications.  Telemedicine allows our doctors to use photo and video technology to provide care to patients virtually over a HIPAA compliant platform. You stay safe in your own home and we will do the work from our Midwest Dermatology home base!  Click here for scheduling instructions.
